When Disney Channel’s Dog With a Blog opens Season 2 this Friday at 8:30/730c, Avery will go to great lengths — or more specifically, heights — to see eye-to-eye with a cute boy, and TVLine has a sneak peek at her endeavor.

In the season opener, “Too Short,” it’s the first day of school and Avery (played by G Hannelius) feels insecure upon seeing that many of her fellow 8th graders enjoyed growth spurts over the summer. (Been there, sigh.) Worse, the guy she’s crushing on has already mistaken her for (the horror!) a 6th grader. Can a trip to the mall “raise” her profile? Watch the clip to find out.
Elsewhere in the episode, Tyler is afraid to reveal to the school the haircut his parents made him get, and Chloe chides her mom about her lackluster lunches (which are doing her no favors at cafeteria swap sessions).
