Until Girls Meets World rolls around in 2014, Disney Channel has another new series to pique your/your rugrats’ interest. Or, twin pique it.

This Friday at 9:45/8:45c, following the world premiere of Teen Beach Movie (which my sons and I enjoyed), the cabler will share a first look at Liv and Maddie, its new comedy starring Dove Cameron (Malibu Country) as two sisters who are as different in personality as they are similar in appearance.
The series picks up with Liv — a cool, confident social butterfly — returning home to Wisconsin after starring on a hit TV show for four years. Genetic identical Maddie, meanwhile, is a smart basketball phenom “who prefers high tops over high heels.” Complicating matters for the Rooney kids (including younger bros Joey and Parker) is having both parents (Grey’s Anatomy‘s Kali Rocha, Benjamin King) work at their school.
